Description

A John Wayne Vest from "Rio Bravo." Warner Bros., 1959. Made of rust-colored suede with rounded lapels, a six button front closure (one button is missing), and three frontal slit pockets; inside Warner Bros. tag reads "4/18/58 / Prod. 441 / John Wayne / Leather Vest / 3 Dbles 3-9214;" vest made for Wayne and was possibly worn by him in one scene: where he asks Dean Martin [as "Dude"] how he's feeling as Dean sits atop his horse; throughout the rest of the film, Wayne's vest is a darker shade of brown, so this one was evidently a double, however, inside pockets and underside of lapel do indicate it was once a darker shade. (Please note this vest is stained, its lining is somewhat torn, and it shows other signs of wear and age.)
