A John Wayne Tailcoat from "Lady for a Night." Republic, 1942. Made of navy blue wool, traditional cut, black satin lapels and buttons, Western Costume Co. label reads "No. 26599 / John Wayne #1 / Chest 46," further WCC stamp on inside sleeve; worn in numerous scenes throughout as the actor portrayed "Jackson Morgan" in the film that co-starred Joan Blondell. (Please note the black satin lapels were replaced, likely for a another actor's use.)

PROVENANCE:
This piece was originally sold in the Heritage Auctions auction titled "The Personal Property of John Wayne," Sale 7045, October 6-7, 2011, Lot 44205, final price realized was $3,346; included is the original 'Certificate of Authenticity' from that auction outlining how this lot was consigned by Ethan Wayne, John Wayne's youngest son.
