    A John Wayne Period Suit from "Pittsburgh." Universal, 1942. Made of brown and tan striped wool; the jacket with three front flap pockets and one front slit pocket, three button front closure; inside label reads "United Costumers / Hollywood / 165A / John Wayne / Chest 45;" together with a pair of matching pants; inside label reads "Warner Bros. Pictures, Inc. / No. 231 / T. Hall / 8/8/38" [evidently worn by another actor first]; drycleaning tag stapled to inside lining reads "WB / 2P / 57652;" worn by the actor as he portrayed "Charles 'Pittsburgh' Markham/Charles Ellis" in the film that co-starred Marlene Dietrich and Randolph Scott.
