A Hat from "Rocky Balboa" (aka "Rocky VI"). Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 2006. Brown herringbone wool fedora, created by Baron Hats of California, contained in a box; worn by Stallone as "Rocky Balboa."

"I think it's kind of ironic that nobody ever wanted me to wear a hat in Rocky. At first, when I showed up on the set of the first Rocky, there was no hat -- so I walked across the street to a thrift shop, went in, and bought a hat -- and it ended up changing the whole character for me. But I was then told, "No, you can't wear it because Gene Hackman wore a hat in The French Connection." So, I thought, "Oh, so that's the end of hats for the rest of eternity?" My point is that the hat made Rocky a very unusual character and the hat itself was a very unique shape. I ended up being able to wear my thrift store hat in both Rocky I and Rocky II and it almost fell apart after all its use. So, many years later, I had this new hat made to duplicate the original. It took 15 tries to get it right because the Rocky I hat was so unique. But what makes this new hat special is that it shows how Rocky has gotten older and how his style has gotten older. This hat is a very 'old-fashion Philadelphia' and it adds to building of the character, the soul of the character of Rocky Balboa."
