Description

A Grace Kelly Period Riding Outfit from "The Swan" from The Debbie Reynolds Collection. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1956. Designed by Helen Rose; a three-piece suit consisting of a jacket made of tan wool, double-breasted, peaked lapels (velvet now worn off), turned up cuffs with beige raw silk faux shirt cuffs attached, two frontal slit pockets, label reads "Grace Kelly / 1684-4708," MGM drycleaning tag stapled to lining; with coordinating beige raw silk dickie (same material as faux shirt cuffs noted above); with matching skirt, sewn in an odd design with numerous hook and eyes, buttons, and straps so it would "hang" a particular way on Kelly, with same label as jacket; worn by the star as she portrayed "Princess Alexandra" though not seen in the final version of the film that co-starred Alec Guinness, Louis Jourdan, and Agnes Moorehead.
