Description

A Coat and Cap from Publicity Stills for "The Quiet Man." Republic, 1952. A classic overcoat made of brown and rust-colored plaid houndstooth wool, four button front closure, with a buttoned fabric band on each sleeve, label in inside pocket reads "John Wayne / 3/11/47;" together with a black, green, and brown plaid wool cap; both pieces worn by Wayne in publicity photographs though not seen in the final version of the film; coat also seems to be the same one used in a brief scene from the 1953 Warner Bros. film, "Trouble Along the Way."
