Description

A Clark Gable Pair of Fringed Period Pants from "Across The Wide Missouri." Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1951. Tan suede, two front diagonal welt pockets in a dark brown suede, tie-up flap front (leather twine replaced later), fringe sewn down either pant leg, inseam stitched with leather twine, hem purposely distressed, label reads "Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer / Cl. Gable / 668-7352-35 H.I;" further annotation handwritten in green ink on the inside lining reads "Double / for Gable / (illegible word);" worn by the actor (and possibly his double or this was a second pair of pants for Gable) in the film that co-starred Ricardo Montalban, John Hodiak, and Adolphe Menjou. (Please note there is slight staining and evident signs of wear throughout the pants.)
