DescriptionA Blazer from "Rocky Balboa" (aka "Rocky VI"). Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 2006. Maroon wool, single-breasted, three frontal pockets, label reads "Academy Award / Clothes / Est. 1950 / Los Angeles;" with costumer's tag; worn by Stallone as "Rocky Balboa" over the shirt in the previous lot.
"In the restaurant, I wanted Rocky to wear something that was very simple, unassuming, and relatable to the everyday working man. I picked this blazer because it reminded me of ones that I had seen so many guys wear who worked in restaurants, guys who were just trying to make a decent living -- it's the kind of generic jacket that at the end of their shift, they take it off and pass it on to the next waiter to wear for the start of his shift, and so on and so forth. It represents Rocky's working class roots. Rocky also wears this jacket in his poignant speech to his son about dignity and self-respect."
