    Description

Colonel Harland Sanders Personally Owned and Worn Suit and Hat (1979-1980). Whether you're thinking "fried chicken" or "Kentucky Colonel", the name that comes to mind is Colonel Harland Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, or KFC. He is an American cultural icon who left an indelible mark on the American landscape and whose reach is worldwide.

Offered here is one of the Colonel's fantastic suits, personally owned and worn by the man himself! Includes a double-breasted white jacket with a label from Merton Chesher Limited on the inner pocket, reading "Col. H. Sanders / April 27, 1979", and matching pants with a label on the inner waist reading the same. Also included are two other matching pants, both with Merton Chesher labels bearing the Colonel's name, dated "May 12, 1980". No sizes noted, the jacket measures approximately 17" from shoulder to shoulder, with 23" sleeves. Pants measure approximately 19.5" across the waist, and 39" from waist to cuff. Topping off the ensemble is an ivory Stetson cowboy hat, with knit hatband and multi-colored feather plume, brown leather inner hatband gold-stamped "Made by Stetson Especially for Colonel Sanders". Includes a Merton Chesher garment bag and 16" x 15.5" x 8.5" Stetson hat box. Conditions Very Good overall, with multiple spots of staining to the jacket, and some light wear to the cowboy hat. COA from Dick Miller.

Provenance: From the Collection of Dick Miller, Associate of Colonel Sanders.

Obtained by Dick Miller, who served as the Colonel's driver and personal aide from 1970 until his death in 1980, and worked for the KFC company for several decades after, until 2008. An absolutely stunning example of American pop culture.

The movie quite literally changed my life. I have included a pic of me in Sly's Rocky 3 Cashmere overcoat, would much appreciate if it is possible for you to forward this email to Sly to let him know the overcoat is in good hands, and will be well taken care of, (as will be the Rambo knife forging tools, the other lot I won!) Wish you very happy holidays and a great 2016!
