Orson Welles Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Nomination Certificate for Best Actor in Citizen Kane (RKO, 1941). Original Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Certificate of Nomination Award for Orson Welles for best actor in a leading role for Citizen Kane. Kane famously lost all but one of the nine academy awards it was nominated for, with Welles taking a statue for best screenplay. Certificate signed by AMPAS president Walter Wagner and printed in silver, gold and black ink on 10 x 11.25 in. paper leaf. Framed and retaining hanging hardware on the verso. Unexamined out of frame. This is a replacement nomination certificate issued by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. From the Estate of Orson Welles.
