Description

Lucille Ball's March of Dimes Memorial Award Music Box. This 9" x 3" x 5" enameled wood music box has a plaque inside the lid inscribed "March of Dimes Jack Benny Memorial Award presented to Lucille Ball/June 2, 1983." The lid was adorned at one time with a decorative antique porcelain rose from the People's Republic of China, crafted circa 1862-74 by Tung Chih; the rose has separated from the lid but is still present and otherwise unmarred. The music mechanism appears to frozen but should be easily restored; otherwise the box is in Very Fine condition. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from Susie Morton as the widow of Gary Morton, Ms. Ball's second husband. The lot is not offered by the estate of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Requires third party shipping.
