    Golden Globe "Best Actor" Award presented to Ronald Colman for his performance in A Double Life (1947). The weighty gold-plated "Globe" trophy sits atop a circular black marble base, which features a rectangular brass plaque engraved with "To Ronald Colman, For His Outstanding Performance, In "A Double Life", 1947, Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association." The Golden Globe Award is bestowed by the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in recognition of excellence in film and television. Also includes the original letter Colman received from the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association dated March 1948 announcing his selection and inviting him to the Awards Dinner on 10 March 1948.
