Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing to David Korr for Sesame Street. (1969-Present) Original Daytime Emmy Award presented to David Korr for "Outstanding Writing in a Children's Series" on Sesame Street. The trophy was originally designed by TV engineer Louis McManus in 1948, using his wife as his model. Consisting of a cast copper and nickel, gold-plated trophy weighing approx. 6 pounds, twelve-and-a-half ounces. The statue stands 15.5" tall and depicts a winged woman, representing the muse of art, holding an atom, the electron of science, atop a wide pedestal base with the embossed text, "The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences" on the rim. The statuette remains the symbol of the Academy's goal of supporting and uplifting the art and science of television. Engraved on the black-banded face of the base is, "1988-1989 Daytime Emmy Awards, Outstanding Writing in a Children's Series, Sesame Street, PBS, David Korr, Writer." Mr. Korr is a multiple Emmy winner for his work on Sesame Street. Exhibiting, minor handling. In Very Good to Fine condition. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
