Cecil B. DeMille Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award. Vintage Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award featuring a cast bronze sculpture resting on a black marble base and measuring 3.5" x 4.25" x 8.75". DeMille received the prestigious award in 1953, the same year his epic drama The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) won the Academy Award for "Best Picture". The inscription on the front brass plate reads: "Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences/Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award/to Cecil B. DeMille/March 19, 1953/For Consistent High Quality of Production Achievement". DeMille kept the award in his office on a shelf just above his Academy Award. Piece exhibits storage wear and some scratching/scuffing on the brass plate. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
