Description

A 'Henrietta' Award, 1952. In the form of a nude woman atop a semi-globe, made of ceramic painted gold, placard on front reads "John Wayne / World Film Favorite / 1952 / Foreign Press Assn / of Hollywood," back signed by artist "A. Katcha Makoff;" included with a circular mirrored base that Wayne used for its display. (Please note the statuette shows repair work at the neck and ankles.)
Height: 25"

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association gave out these 'Henrietta' awards from 1950 until they retired the category in 1979, though the design of the 'Henrietta' had changed from this early 'female' form to the more standard 'Golden Globe' form many years beforehand. This style of the award is quite rare.
