Description

William A. Brady Street Scene 1931 Annotated and Cast Signed Script. 9" x 11", 150 pages, front cover marked in black ink "Property of Wm. A. Brady/The Playhouse/137 W. 48th Street, New York City." Theatrical impresario William A. Brady produced this Elmer Rice play at New York's Playhouse. This was his personal copy of the Pulitzer Prize-winning script, signed by all 50 members of the original cast, including Erin O'Brien-Moore (who later co-starred with Humphrey Bogart in Warner Bros.' Black Legion), Beulah Bondi (Boris Karloff's victim in The Invisible Ray), Matt and Ed McHugh (brothers of Warner Bros. favorite Frank McHugh), and John Qualen (The Grapes of Wrath, The Searchers, and other John Ford classics). Several of the actors reprised their roles in Samuel Goldwyn's 1931 film version. The script features handwritten annotations in black ink throughout. In Very Good condition with some age toning in the paper; the front cover is loose and has some paper loss along the spine. From the William and Alice Brady Estate Archive. Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA.
