Walt Disney Signed Polo Ball. This polo ball, signed in ink "Walt Disney" and measuring 10" in circumference, is notable form in the life of the legendary producer. Disney, along with Spencer Tracy, Darryl F. Zanuck, and Leslie Howard, was one of Hollywood's most gung-ho polo players. He was captain of "The Mickey Mouse Team" and even produced the memorable 1936 Mickey's Polo Team, with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and the Big Bad Wolf competing against Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, and Harpo Marx (riding an ostrich!). In real-life, an errant polo ball hit Disney in the back, ending his polo-playing hobby before the end of the 1930s and causing him a history of back pain and eventually arthritis that plagued him for the rest of his life. The polo ball, manufactured in London, has warped and chipped over the decades but the signature, although slightly faded, is still readable and immediately recognizable as the famous Disney autograph. Included is a pouch, with the words "Broadway National Bank of Quincy," in which the original owner kept the ball. Fair to Good condition and very desirable due to its unique form and Disney history. Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA.
