Description

Signed Sharon Tate Letter and Hand-Written Envelope. Sharon Tate was 16-18 years old when she sent this four-page handwritten note and hand-addressed envelope to her grandmother, Grace Tate ("Nannie") in Houston, Texas. The letter is not stamped or postmarked and dates conflict; "1959" is penciled on front of the 3.25" x 4" envelope, while the date "3-18-61" is marked in pencil on the back of the envelope. Sharon was likely in Italy at the time, and writes in black ink on four sides of 4" x 6" note paper: "Hi Nannie How's ya? Fine I hope. I sure did like your present. You know, out of all the nice presents I got I found yours best of all. I guess it's not the package, it's the thought that you gave it to me. I like it the mostest!! Will Nannie dry your tears and pack your bags and hop a plane and come see us. What's the dills baby look like? Is she cute, I sure bet they are proud of her, oh yes, I have another cousin to add to our collection don't I? Well I had better close now. Give her a big kiss for me & everyone too. Will see ya soon. Love & stuff Your devoted Grandchild Sharon." The note and envelope are very clean with Sharon's handwriting bold and sharp; the affection in the message is delightful. In Excellent condition. Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA.
