Description

Sharon Tate Signed Christmas Card, 1965. A 1965 Christmas card, its cover featuring the painting The Adoration of the Shepherds, with Tate writing inside in blue ink: "I will be leaving for home the 24th of Dec. You know we are starting the move over with Deborah Kerr thank God Love Sharon XXXXX." Sharon had been in France, filming The Eye of the Devil, starring David Niven and Kim Novak, who'd reportedly suffered a fall from a horse and was replaced by Deborah Kerr. The year was an eventful one for Sharon professionally; she'd made four appearances as bank clerk Janet Trego on TV's The Beverly Hillbillies and appeared on an episode of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. The Eye of the Devil would give Sharon special billing ("and introducing Sharon Tate"); nevertheless, she must have been disappointed when the powers-that-were decided to dub her voice. Card has some minor blemishes and light staining, but the message and "Sharon" are sharp and clear, and it is in overall Very Fine condition. The crisp writing, rather catty reference to her former leading lady, and the added "kiss" X's make this a most desirable item. Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA.
