    Description

Samuel Goldwyn, Darryl Zanuck, and Others Signed Historic Merger Agreement (1935). The Fox Film Corporation was formed in 1915 by theater chain pioneer William Fox, and Twentieth Century Pictures was created in 1933 by Joseph Schenck of United Artists, Darryl F. Zanuck of Warner Bros., William Goetz of Fox Films, and Raymond Griffith. In May 1935, the two merged and, in combining Twentieth Century's successful studio with Fox's well-heeled distribution system, a new force to be reckoned with was created. This 19-page notarized agreement, dated July 22, 1935, between the new company, Samuel Goldwyn Inc., Ltd., and United Artists regarding the sale of stock, is signed by Goldwyn, Zanuck, Shenck, and Goetz in green and black inks and is in Very Fine condition with mild wear, slight toning, and a crease from having been folded across the middle. A fantastic piece of film history with interesting content. Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA.
