Robert Bloch Condolence Letter to Mrs. Boris Karloff. A 7.5" x 12" "aerogramme" typed letter from famed horror writer Robert Bloch, best-remembered as the author of the novel Psycho, to Mrs. Boris Karloff, dated 4 February, 1969 and expressing condolences to Mrs. Karloff on the star's death. Bloch signs in blue ink "Bob Bloch" and writes of Karloff's passing, "...I think what affected me most was the number of people who called all day yesterday... they knew how very fond we were of Boris and that we'd listen, and all of them needed someone to talk to...concerning a man who commanded their affection and admiration..." The front contains Mrs. Karloff's London address and Bloch's Los Angeles address with 13-cent airmail postage. Bloch was also the author of some of the best-remembered episodes of Karloff's Thriller TV program, including "The Cheaters" and "Yours Truly, Jack the Ripper". A moving piece, featuring Bloch's signature in touching and very desirable form. Excellent condition. From the Boris Karloff Estate Collection. Accompanied by a Letter of Provenance from Sara Karloff Sparkman. Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA.
