Lucille Ball's Letters to Husband Gary Morton on Various Anniversaries. A set of handwritten notes from Lucille Ball to spouse Gary Morton, from their 3rd, 6th, 8th, 10th, 18th, and 24th wedding anniversaries, totaling seven notes in all (with two for their 8th anniversary). One ten-page note is especially effusive and concludes with a Father's Day addendum, Lucy listing the alphabet, with each letter standing for one of Gary's qualities. The letter also expresses Lucy's regret hat they didn't have children together. Other items include a poem she wrote Gary on their tenth anniversary ("Why Do I Love Thee?"), a letter expressing concern for their mutual health, a rather desperate letter written on Redbook magazine envelope regarding her emotional state, etc. Pieces are signed "Your Wife" or "The Mrs.," although she does sign the eighth anniversary note (written on her personal stationery) "Lucy" and on the Redbook envelope, writes "Lucille" several times. Telling insight into a very emotional and vulnerable lady. In Excellent condition. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from Susie Morton as the widow of Gary Morton, Ms. Ball's second husband. The lot is not offered by the estate of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.
