Lucille Ball Notes and Letters. These five separate notes and letters from Lucille Ball to husband Gary Morton show a self-doubting and vulnerable lady, especially a note in which she addresses him "Dearest 'Wonderful Guy,' I love you - and even though you are thinking of leaving me - I love you just the same..." and signs with "Your wife of twenty-six wonderful years." This dates it to 1987, two years before Lucy's death. This note also warns Gary to "...keep away from Doris Vidor" (daughter of Harry Warner, wife of director Charles Vidor) and includes a two-page typed poem obviously written by Lucy, with the repeated line "THE DEAR ONE IS GONE!" Other notes express Lucy's concerns about her sense of humor, health, etc. Two are signed "Lucy," one "The Missus," and one "Your Missus." Sad and touching revelations, in Excellent condition. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from Susie Morton as the widow of Gary Morton, Ms. Ball's second husband. The lot is not offered by the estate of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.
