Description

Lucille Ball, Gary Morton, and Cary Grant Framed Photos. Three quite sumptuous photos from Lucille Ball's personal collection. The first is a 9" x 12" b&w photo (matted into a 13" x 16" wooden frame) of Lucy and her poodle, which she inscribed to her husband in blue ink: "Gary darling - We love you so much." (She does not add her name.) The second shot is a breathtaking 8" x 10" b&w glamour portrait (set into a 12" x 14" glass frame) of Lucy in her MGM era in the early 1940s. The third is a color 7" x 10" shot (set in a 10.5" x 13" metal frame) of Gary Morton with a bespectacled Cary Grant, both smiling, circa 1980. The latter two pictures appeared in the background of photographs that appeared in Architectural Digest (May, 1984) in an article illustrating Lucy's Manhattan apartment. Back of the frame of the third picture is braced by tape -- otherwise all three items are in Excellent condition. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from Susie Morton as the widow of Gary Morton, Ms. Ball's second husband. The lot is not offered by the estate of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Requires third party shipping.
