Laurel and Hardy Framed Picture, Signed by Laurel to Lucille Ball and Gary Morton. A wonderful item to delight fans of classic comedy: a Laurel & Hardy portrait for Lucille Ball and Gary Morton inscribed by Stan Laurel himself! The shot, signed by Laurel in the early 1960s, is a 3" x 5" late-1930s publicity pose of Stan and Ollie with printed signatures (Hardy had died in 1957). Stan personally wrote in pen on the picture: "Happy memories Gary & Lucy! Love - Stan," and added "Stan Laurel" below his image. The picture is in a thick 6" x 8" frame, and Lucy and Gary proudly displayed it in their home. Indeed, the lot includes a color snapshot of a late-in-life Gary Morton, holding his dog, the framed shot of Laurel and Hardy visible on the wall beside Gary's video tapes. Paper on back of frame is torn; otherwise, it is in Excellent condition. A charming connection between the Queen of Comedy and the comedy team many believe to have been the greatest in Hollywood history. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from Susie Morton as the widow of Gary Morton, Ms. Ball's second husband. The lot is not offered by the estate of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Requires third party shipping.
