    Description

John Wayne Contract Signed as Marion Morrison. This fantastic two-page contract between Wayne and RKO Radio Pictures is dated January 5, 1951, and signed by Wayne, using his birth name of Marion M. Morrison, in green ink. The contract details payments in regard to a promissory note, and dates from seven months before the release of RKO's Flying Leathernecks. It is also signed by Wayne's then-wife, Esperanza Baur Morrison, in black ink. Most signatures that turn up signed by Morrison tend to date from early in his life, typically before he began pursuing an acting career. The contract is in Very Fine condition with mild wear and toning, and the usual binder holes to the top edges. Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA.
