Joan Crawford Visits Clifton Webb. It was always hard to miss Joan Crawford - in life, onscreen and on this autograph page from the guest book of Clifton Webb and his mother Mabel. Crawford signs, as was her custom, expansively, inscribing "Clifton you are such a great artist - Profound admiration." The undated page apparently was signed after a stage performance by Webb, , and other admirers include Helen Hayes, her husband writer Charles MacArthur (who writes "Clifton s the best actor I ever saw") and Allen Vincent (whose credits include the 1933 Mystery of the Wax Museum). The back of the sheet includes ALfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. Two additional sheets are in this lot: one dated November 14, 1943, that includes Gloria Swanson (with a reverse side dated at various times in 1942, and including Ray Bolger, Libby Holman and Mildred Natwick) and a third sheet including Grace Moore's signature from Easter of 1940.
