Jimmy Durante Signed Set of Sketches from the Brown Derby. A pair of framed 11" x 14" caricature sketches of Durante by Eddie Vitch circa the 1930s, with most of Durante's profile on one and his famously large nose extending into the other! One is inscribed "To Vitch -- Get me back in that other frame. (I mean my schnozzle) Hot cha" and signed by the legendary comedian in black fountain ink, with additional signatures from unknown parties added below. This was one of many celebrity caricatures that decorated the walls of the legendary Brown Derby restaurant in Los Angeles for decades, and Vitch was the artist who began the tradition in 1929. This particular sketch is signed by Vitch in the lower right corner of the righthand drawing. In Very Fine condition with some mild age toning, some very mild moisture damage to the bottom edge, and a little fading to the ink. Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA.
