Ian Wolfe Signed Letter Referring to Boris Karloff, The Raven and Bedlam. A two-page handwritten letter on personal letterhead, dated January 20, 1989, to Karloff biographer Scott Allen Nollen from character actor Ian Wolfe (1896-1992). Wolfe, who worked with nearly every major Hollywood director in his seven-decade film career, writes specifically about the Universal horror classic The Raven (1935) and the Val Lewton RKO horror classic Bedlam (1946). His extensive comments about Karloff are accompanied by mentions of Bela Lugosi, the Screen Actors Guild, and even "Richard" Harrison of the Beatles! Signed three times on the front and "Luv, Ian" on the back by Wolfe in blue ink. Also included is the original envelope, addressed in Wolfe's hand. The reverse includes his full return address and yet another handwritten note. Extraordinary Hollywood content, used as research for the books Boris Karloff: A Critical Account (1991) and Boris Karloff: A Gentleman's Life (1999). In Very Fine condition. From the personal collection of authorized biographer Scott Allen Nollen. Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA.
