DescriptionGroucho Marx Signed Personal Dunhill Humidor (ca. late 1930s). Vintage original 8.5" x 11" x 5" Dunhill humidor belonging to Groucho Marx from the late 1930's until his death in 1977. Retaining the embossed "Dunhill New York and London" tag on the interior hinge platform. Groucho Marx is considered one of the world's greatest comedians and ranked as one of its most famous cigar smokers. In fact, the cigar was an integral prop of Groucho's act and comic persona. The humidor is composed of beveled hard wood case with copperhinged lid and interior cedar liner. With internal elbow catch and Masonite inner lid and bottom. Retaining the original green felt bottom, partially detached but present. Includes original interior lid humidifier. Signed "Groucho" in blue ink on the hinge shelf of the humidor on the upper left.
