    George M. Cohan Signed Documents (3). Three distinctly different documents, all signed by the actor/playwright/dancer/producer, all positioned and framed to an overall 17 ½" x 20 ¼". Includes: 1) An 8 ½" x 13" contract from Loew's Incorporated for the movie rights to Little Nellie Kelly, dated March 14, 1940. In Very Good Plus condition with fold marks, staple holes, bumped corners, and an edge tear on the upper right side; 2) An endorsed check for $1,000 from the Commercial Trust Company, dated April 5, 1907. In Very Good condition with adhesive on verso showing through the front, as well as toning; 3) A flattened, handwritten note (in black ink) on stationery from the Shelburne in Atlantic City. Measures 5" x 6 ¾". In Very Good Plus condition with a large fold mark through the center, along with toning from handling in the upper left portion. Lot also comes with an 8 ½" x 11" piece of paper, marked "Exhibit ‘A,'" featuring a list of ten songs written by Cohan, and when they were copyrighted. Comes with mailing envelope. Page is in Very Good Plus condition with staple holes while the envelope is in Very Good condition with tears and folds, along with staple holes. COA from Heritage Auctions.
