Claude Rains Written Postcards to His Daughter. Rains sent these six postcards with reproductions of the works of Matisse, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Picasso to his daughter at Bennington College, signing them in ink, "Love Fa Fa." One was written on his November 10, 1957 birthday: "Sunday. I'm 68. Took pills for sleeping and whiskey (doctors orders!) and slept all night...So what!" All cards date from the autumn of 1957 (a significant time for Rains, as Shock! Theatre was a TV sensation and fans had rediscovered him as The Invisible Man) and still bear their two-and three-cent stamps. In Very Good to Excellent condition. From the Claude Rains Estate Archive.
