Description

Boris Karloff Related Anna Lee Signed Photo from The Man Who Changed His Mind with Letter. A b&w 8" x 10" re-strike photograph from the 1936 Boris Karloff classic The Man Who Changed His Mind, boldly inscribed and signed "For Scott A. Nollen/A vintage picture! How young I was then! Anna Lee." Also included is a two-page typed letter, dated August 3, 1989 to Karloff biographer Scott Allen Nollen from the actress, signed by her in black ink. Lee (co-star of eight John Ford films and longtime co-star on General Hospital) writes extensively about the productions of the Karloff horror classics The Man Who Changed His Mind (1936) and Bedlam (1946). Lee mentions actors' unions, engaging in poetry "jam sessions" with Karloff, legendary producer Val Lewton, director Mark Robson, actress Vivien Leigh, Gone with the Wind, and John Ford. An extraordinary letter loaded with fascinating Hollywood content, used as research for the books Boris Karloff: A Critical Account (1991) and Boris Karloff: A Gentleman's Life (1999). Both items are in Very Fine condition. From the personal collection of authorized biographer Scott Allen Nollen. Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA.
