Boris Karloff Handwritten Letter on Arsenic and Old Lace Stationery, with Photo. A two-page letter dated March 20, 1942, handwritten front and back on Arsenic and Old Lace Fulton Theatre letterhead and signed by Karloff in black ink. The letter was written by Karloff to his mother-in-law, Louise Stine, during the actor's 1,400-performance run in the comedy play. Karloff was very close to Stine, and remained so after his 1946 divorce from Dorothy, to the extent that he continued to pay Stine's expenses for many years. Karloff discusses the play, an upcoming Columbia production with Peter Lorre (And The Boogie Man Will Get You), his activities in the war effort, and books he was reading at the time. The letter is in Very Fine condition with mailing folds, but has been stored flat for years, and is accompanied by its original mailing envelope and a b&w 8" x 10" cast photo from the 1957 Anchorage, Alaska, production of the play (from Karloff's personal collection). Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA.
