Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray Autographed Double Indemnity Publicity Still (1944). A 9" x 7" publicity still from the 1944 classic Double Indemnity, Billy Wilder's maiden voyage into film noir. Publicity stills such as these, depicting the "happy couple" in a warm embrace, were pushed by Paramount in an effort to create mass appeal for the risque film. What would inevitably become the godfather of all films noirs needed no help from the studio -- the film garnered seven Oscar nominations and is hailed by most film historians as the one of the best of the noir genre. The signatures, both in black ink, are large and clean. In Excellent condition, double-matted and framed to an overall size of 15" x 13.5". Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA.
