Ann Savage Signed Detour Lobby Card (1945). There's no escaping the long arm of the law in Detour -- or the censors in 1940s Hollywood, for that matter. Edgar G. Ulmer's original ending to this dark, pulpy noir allowed Tom Neal's poor sucker to escape a potential murder conviction. When the Production Code fellas took umbrage at the idea of an unpunished crime, Ulmer was forced to change the ending to the still-fantastic version seen today (it's out on DVD and worth multiple viewings). Ann Savage's well-placed inscription and signature grace this original lobby card, double-matted to an image size of 13" x 10" and beautifully framed to an overall size of 19" x 16". What a great homage to a film with the most curious murder scene in the film noir canon -- death by telephone cord, anyone? In Excellent condition. Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA.
