    Description

Anchors Aweigh Limited Edition Animation Cel and Photo Background, Signed by Gene Kelly 244/500 (Hanna-Barbera). Gene Kelly, dressed as a Greek sailor, shares the stage with an animated Jerry Mouse, in this fantasy scene from the 1945 MGM film, Anchors Aweigh. In the film, Gene and Frank Sinatra play two sailors on leave in Hollywood, where they meet aspiring singer Kathryn Grayson and her young nephew, Dean Stockwell. Gene winds up babysitting Dean, and tells him a story about his time in the Greek Navy, which leads to the sequence with Jerry (Tom the Cat appears briefly as well). This oversized cel and photo background was produced much later, in a limited edition of 500; in addition to Kelly, it was also signed by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera. Image size is approximately 18" x 13", matted and framed for an overall size of 25" x 20.5". In Excellent condition. Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA.
