    Description

    A William Holden Academy Award Correspondence Archive, Circa 1954. A collection of 23 letters and telegrams sent from various friends and colleagues to Holden, congratulating him on his 1954 Oscar win for his performance in "Stalag 17" (his second win). Included are eight letters signed by Frank Capra, Walter Wanger, Darryl Zanuck, Sidney Sheldon, and others; a New York Herald Tribune page with a story about the awards, bearing an inscription and signature from Fredric March; and telegrams from Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Gene Kelly, Gary Cooper, Joan Crawford, Lee and Ira Gershwin, and others. In overall Very Fine condition. A portion of the proceeds to be donated to the William Holden Wildlife Foundation.
