Description

A Walter Plunkett and David O. Selznick Signed Contract for "Gone With The Wind." Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1939. Seven pages, typed, dated "November 23, 1936," outlining the complex agreement the producer had with the costumier, reading in part "We hereby employ you to render your services / to us as a researcher, a costume researcher, a costume / designer, and in such other capacities as we may deter-/mine befit your capabilities, in connection with the / production of one motion picture photoplay at present / entitled Gone With The Wind;" signed in black fountain pen ink on the last page "DO Selznick" and "Walter Plunkett" -- little did either one know at the time how iconic and memorable all of "Scarlett's" costumes would become; also included is a 1939-era vintage collectible dress pattern related to the "Careen" character and one pamphlet showing other related "GWTW" patterns.
