A Walt Disney Signed Power of Attorney Authorization, 1930. A two-page notarized power of attorney granting Disney's representative in England to act on his behalf regarding licensing arrangements between Disney and Dean's Rag Book Company. Dean's manufactured the very first representation of Mickey Mouse as a plush doll in 1930 with Donald Duck and other Disney characters to follow over subsequent decades. The document is signed on the last page in black ink "Walter E Disney" and dated December 23, 1930, reading in part " connection with those fanciful cartoon characters known and designated as Mickey Mouse and/or Minnie Mouse." (Please note there is a 2" tear along the center crease's right margin, affecting both pages as well as the notarization slip and document cover.)
