Description
A Walt Disney Early Signed Letter, 1934. One page, typed on great 'Walt Disney Productions, Ltd.' letterhead featuring an image of Mickey Mouse on the top (believed to be the first time Mickey actually appears on Disney company stationery), dated "October 13, 1934," sent to a "Miss Rose T. Marucci," a somewhat philosophical letter outlining Disney's thoughts and theories about art, reading in part "When a person has thoroughly and definitely acquired the fundamentals of drawing (which in our business is good draftsmanship) and has added to this fundamental knowledge, visualism and creativeness, he is then known as a true artist - and sometimes he is called a genius. Please understand that my views, as expressed above, are made entirely with respect to our type of work - the art of cartoon animation;" boldly signed in blue fountain pen ink in the lower right corner "Walt Disney;" with a three-hole punch mark on the left margin; a compelling letter illuminating the mind of "true artist" and "genius," Mr. Walt Disney himself! (Please note the paper is somewhat yellowed due to age.)11" x 8 1/2"
