A Spencer Tracy Signed Contract from "The Old Man and the Sea." Warner Bros., 1958. A seven page typed document, dated "June 2, 1955," outlining a standard employment contact for the actor to appear in the film based on Ernest Hemingway's famous novel about a Cuban fisherman named Santiago, page 2 indicates the actor's compensation of "$150,000," signed in blue ballpoint ink on the last page "Spencer Tracy," with two-hole punch marks on top margin; though Tracy was nominated for a 'Best Actor in a Leading Role' Oscar for his poignant portrayal of "The Old Man," sadly he lost out to David Niven for "Separate Tables."
