A Marilyn Monroe Signature, Circa 1956. The famous black and white photograph of the star taken by Cecil Beaton, an original print with a matte finish, mounted to a mat board which she signed on the lower margin in black ballpoint ink "Dear Madame Renna, / Thank you for what you've / given me -- your work and your interest. / Warmest Wishes, / Marilyn" -- 'Madame Renna' being the well-known beautician who had a salon in Los Angeles where many stars were treated, including MM. (Please note both the photograph and the mat are in only marginal condition with staining, slight paper loss, and yellowing due to age; the inscription is still decent, though it looks like Marilyn's pen ran off the bottom margin when she was writing her 'y.')

PROVENANCE:
This piece was consigned directly to Heritage Auctions by the stepdaughter of Madame Renna's business partner, Dr. George H. Campbell, and comes with a collection of paperwork related to Madame Renna's business, some of which dates back to 1935!
