Description

A Marilyn Monroe ["Norma Jeane Dougherty"] Signed Modeling Release Form, 1946. A waiver used by photographer Richard C. Miller when he worked with the up and coming nineteen-year-old on "April 30, 1946," signed by his most famous model in black fountain pen ink in the lower right corner "Norma Jeane Dougherty / 11348 Nebraska Ave. / W.L.A. Calif.," further signed by Miller as well as his wife, Margaret D. Miller [as a witness]; interestingly, the address Norma Jeane used was that of her "Aunt" Ana Lower's home; included with a later-print color photograph depicting the young model sitting in front of a stone fireplace that was shot on the same day this release was signed, the photographer's "Estate Stamp" on the verso; interestingly, the young Norma Jeane Dougherty signed a similar "Model Release Form" a month before [on March 10, 1946] for the photographer Joseph Jasgur where text stated in part "I am over twenty-one years of age" even though she was only 19 years old at the time, thus making this "Photographic Model Release" the first fully executed, legally binding contract between Norma Jeane and a photographer.
