A Large Collection of Black and White Headshots and Stills from 'Cinema Art' Magazine, 1920s. Part of the archives of the now-defunct 1920s-era film magazine; approximately 35 images, all original prints with either a matte or glossy finish, each depicting a silent era star (or two stars together) such as (in alphabetical order): Mary Astor, George Bancroft, Richard Barthelmess, Clara Bow, Nancy Carroll, Lew Cody, Ronald Colman, Jackie Coogan, Gary Cooper, Ricardo Cortez, Helene Costello, Joan Crawford, Greta Garbo, John Gilbert, Lillian Gish, Lars Hanson, Al Jolson, Ernst Lubitsch, Colleen Moore, Pola Negri, Ramon Novarro, Charles Rogers, Gloria Swanson, Estelle Taylor, and Fay Wray; most images were shot by major photographers of the day including (in alphabetical order): Russell Ball, Clarence Sinclair Bull, Irving Chidnoff, Preston Duncan, William Grimes, Hommel, Ruth Harriet Louise, Gene Robert Ritchee, and Melbourne Spurr; also included are four issues of 'Cinema Art' magazine all from 1927 which display some of the photographs from this collection. (Please note that because these photographs were used for magazine production, most of them are cropped or otherwise marked-up and many have stains, paper loss, and chipping, but overall, it's still an amazing collection related to early Hollywood.)
