Description

A Jayne Mansfield Compelling Scrapbook, Mid-1960s. Seeming to be compiled by someone who knew the star intimately as many of the contents are items that only Mansfield herself could have had such as: legal documents, passport renewal applications, doctor-written prescriptions, telegrams and letters (to her), contracts for engagements she had in Latin America, foreign and American ID cards including ones from the Automobile Club of Southern California and the Venezuelan government (which is signed by her in blue ballpoint ink), newspaper and magazine clippings (including many related to her death), and approximately 50 black and white original print photographs (8"x10" and smaller) of the star with her ubiquitous Chihuahuas as she traveled in South American countries (most have never before been seen); also included are a few cards and letters the star signed and sent to the owner of this scrapbook; overall, a comprehensive collection illuminating Jayne Mansfield's complicated life during the somewhat tawdry days towards the sad end.
Scrapbook: 12" x 11" x 3"
