A Glenn Ford-Received Handwritten Break-Up Letter from Judy Garland, Circa 1963. On two pages of monogrammed stationery ["JLG" for Judy Garland Luft], not dated, handwritten in green ballpoint ink on both sides of each page by the star, reading in part "Dearest - / I find myself in a state / of utter and complete / confusion. / ...the fact that you could / not be in love with me.../ I received your flowers - / they're very beautiful and / make me weep because / I finally realize that you / sent them to me to let me / know that they were / the finality of our / relationship. / ...I cry for both of us / Judy;" the letter continues on with more of Garland's feelings during this sad time when the two were evidently calling it quits -- but at least Ford sent her some decent 'farewell' flowers! (Please note the stationery is yellowed due to age but still entirely legible.)
    10 1/2" x 7"

Ford and Garland knew each other for decades in Hollywood and eventually embarked on an affair in 1963. By many accounts, it was quite passionate, though short-lived, and the two later moved on to other romances.

Included with a "Letter of Provenance" signed by Peter Ford, son of Glenn Ford.
