Description

A George Cukor and Gertrude Hartley Set of Correspondence, 1969. The first a letter, one page, on blue paper, handwritten in blue felt tip ink, dated "17th April 1969," to George Cukor from Vivien Leigh's mother [Gertrude Hartley], reading in part "How very sweet of you darling George to / send me this beautiful tribute to my adorable / Vivien;" the second another letter, one page, typed, dated "April 30, 1969," to Hartley from Cukor, reading in part "How wonder- / ful it was that one of the most / important American Universities / paid tribute to Vivien," signed in blue ballpoint ink in the lower right corner "George" -- sad that they had to discuss this tribute as it was for Leigh's untimely death of two years previous.
    11" x 8 1/2" and smaller
