DescriptionA Frank Sinatra Signed Contract for "Pal Joey." Columbia, 1957. A 17 page document, dated "24th day of April 1956," part boiler plate, part typed addendums, outlining the agreement the actor had with Essex Productions, Inc. and George Sidney Productions, Inc. to star in the film along with Rita Hayworth and Kim Novak, Sinatra's compensation being "$125,000" and his billing being "...the type size...at least 100% of the type size used for the title of the picture," but interestingly "Hayworth shall be billed ahead," signed in blue fountain pen ink on the last page "Frank Sinatra," with two-hole punch marks on top margin; the singer's performance as "Joey Evans" won him a Golden Globe award for 'Best Motion Picture Actor - Musical/Comedy' as well as a Golden Laurel award for 'Top Male Musical Performance' -- a role that likely came easy to Sinatra as it mirrored his own life.
