    A Doris Day and Others Group of Mostly Handwritten Letters, 1950s-1970s. Four total, all to Hollywood costume designer Howard Shoup including: 1) one from Doris Day, handwritten in black fountain pen ink on a plain notecard, dated "Dec. 30, 1954," reading in part "How sweet of you to / think of the Melchers at / Christmastime!," signed "Doris," included with its original transmittal envelope; 2) another one from Day, handwritten in brown felt-tip ink on a personalized notecard, undated but from March 1975 (as noted from postmark), reading in part "I love traveling, my dogs / my home, my friends, etc. etc. / so I want to have time for all," signed "Doris," included with its original transmittal envelope; 3) one from Bonita Granville and The Women's Council, typed on letterhead, dated "April 7, 1964," reading in part "I want to express deepest / appreciate for your magnificent creation," signed in black ballpoint ink "Bonita Granville Wrather;" and 4) one from Hollywood costume designer Irene Sharaff, handwritten in black felt-tip ink on a plain notecard, dated "25/XII/67," reading in part "I do hope this will be a / wonderful year for / you," signed "Irene," included with its original transmittal envelope.
